A Midsummer Night's Dream...

I'd like to say I've been lazing away in these dog days of summer, but I've been busy, busy, busy!  As always, I've been working hard on orders so everyone doesn't have to wait too long.  I've also been working on new pieces, and am happy to introduce the Summerlight collection in satin finish textured fine silver.  Created to be easy to wear, go with everything, and care free, these pieces are perfect for accenting a casual summer wardrobe, but they will also carry through beautifully right into fall.  Right now there are bangles, stacking rings both thick and thin, a classic circle pendant, and hoop earrings.  I might add one or two more pieces, since I love working with this texture so much.

Ethiopian Opal RingAfter visiting the gem show earlier this spring (new stones from that show are posted in my facebook gem album) I have really fallen in love with Ethiopian opals.  My favorite new ring is the Enchanted Garden ring in sterling silver and brass, with a lovely rose cut Ethiopian opal.  I have a great little stash of these opals, so there will be more opal pieces!

Ethiopian opal is just as beautiful as the more well known Australian opal, and, for now, it is a bit less expensive. It is a relatively new stone, and has only been available for the last 3 or 4 years.  The best quality is from the Welo mine, and this is what I have my stash.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, and that is hasn't been too hot where you are.  Fall will be here before we know it!
